Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves are Dead Combo.

The group was formed in 2003 by an invitation of Henrique Amaro from Antena 3 radio, to record the track “Paredes Ambience” included in the homage CD to the genius of the Portuguese guitar Carlos Paredes, “Movimentos Perpétuos – Música para Carlos Paredes”. They incarnate two characters that could have come from a comics book: a undertaker and a gangster.

Their five albums released so far have been critically acclaimed in Portugal and abroad, having had their first “Vol. 1” included in Charlie Gillet’s list of best world albums in 2005, “Lusitânia Playboys” awarded record of the decade and all of the albums awarded record of the year by several important publications in Portugal

Dead Combo was featured in the Lisbon episode of “No Reservations” by Anthony Bourdain. Their music was the soundtrack for the whole episode and a show was also shown.

The three first albums of the band reached the top 10 on the north-american iTunes charts for several weeks.

Recently Dead Combo headlined several major summer festivals in Portugal.

“A Bunch of Meninos”, the band’s latest album, reached number one in Portugal, and also on Spotify (Portugal) and iTunes (Portugal).

“Rumbero” and “Lisboa Mulata” were recently included in the motion picture “Focus” by  Glenn Ficarra and John Requa featuring Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Rodrigo Santoro.
